Children & Young People's Plan

The Children and Young People's Plan for Redcar and Cleveland is the single, over-arching strategic plan which sets out how all organisations will work together to improve the lives of children and young people across the borough. A new plan will be produced in 2011. Work on a Needs Assessment , which includes consultation with Children, Young People and Families has been taking place since April 2010. Once this work is complete the Needs Assessment will be published on the website. The Needs Assessment will be used to inform the Trust when they revise the priority areas that partners will focus on over the next few years.
The plan will shape how the police, council, schools, voluntary and community sector, NHS, probation service and Local Safeguarding Children Board will deliver services to children and young people over a defined period of time and in line with the five national Every Child Matters outcomes of:
  • Be Healthy
  • Stay Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Make a Positive Contribution
  • Achieve Economic Well-being
The plan covers services which affect children and young people aged from 0-19, over 19s who have left care and young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities up to the age of 25. The plan is developed, resourced, implemented and monitored by Redcar and Cleveland Children and Young People's Trust.
